100-WORD STORY (#2)

I wake up, she's still gone.

It's not abandonment. I try not to think it is.

Truth - she did choose to leave - alone, quietly.

'Didn’t we pledge to be soulmates for life?'

I hope she found her paradise, be at peace - finally.

The peace she said she couldn't find from me, or anybody.

'But must you end it this way?'

'You walk into the sea, but return - stilly... '

Every day, since, I'll visit her.

Every time, before leaving, kneeling beside her resting place, I’ll whisper -

"See you on the other side. Please, wait for me."

50-WORD STORY (#1)

He stops in front of me.

He seems kind. I hope he picks me.

He bends down, looks at me, smiles. Will he like me?

And choose me?

"I want her!", he says, pointing to me.

Elation!

Finally, a savior, my rescuer. My Human!

I wag my tail, happily. Home.

25-WORD STORY (#1)

Today's the day of her new journey.

She'll feel less but blessed. Still a woman no matter what.

Today's the day for her double mastectomy.

100-WORD STORY (#1)

In the confession room, she bemoaned her woes to the priest she had just met for the first time.

He seemed different – smiling, genuinely-concerned and non-judgmental, unlike others!

Finally someone understood her, she thought.

Suddenly, there was a loud-knock at the door.

“There you are! Running away again?” a man with a gruff voice shouted.

Frightened, she thought - what does he want?

The priest panicked.

The door was flung open. He was dragged out by the shouting man, who wears a badge which reads ‘Hope Mental-Care Institution’.

She felt lost, again.

Her savior in white-cassock is now in white-straitjacket…
